We are in!!

Here are just a few pictures of our the house since we moved in. Please bear in mind that it still needs a lot of work. We have the flooring down, the cabinets in with no countertops yet, the staircase in except for the railing and all of our boxes in the front living area!! Needless to say, it is still a bit of a mess, but it is our mess, right?

time keeps on tickin...

We are running out of time and I am trying to post some pics very last minute. next time, we will be in the house, which is this weekend...so, please pray for us!! Carpet is being put in tonight, staircase, kitchen floor and cabinets put in tomorrow.

These pictures are of the beam that was put up this week and also a picture of where the staircase used to be. One picture is looking up towards the second floor as if I was walking up the old staircase.

These pictures are from the dining room looking into the kitchen. You can see that all the cabinets are down and so are the walls.

I love progress...

Ok, here are some more pictures...finally! It may not look like much to you, but to be here and see it in the flesh, it is so much progress. All of the pics are of the first floor and shows pretty much all the walls out, the beam that runs from the front of the house to the back is up. All of the walls in the kitchen are down, all 4 layers of linoleum are out,and the staircase is out. The electrician is supposed to come Monday and hopefully by the end of the week, the drywall will be started. Then the spiral staircase needs to be installed. All I can say is I am so ready to be done!! The house needs to be livable by August 30th!! All of our big plans for fancy cabinets, appliances, and countertops is not gonna happen by then, but that's what craigslist is for, right? By the way, I love craigslist!! Anyway, enjoy the pictures and I will keep the posts coming...

Fun in the sun!

This weekend we decided to do a little yard work. Not real exciting, unless you count finding a grocery store buggy in the backyard among the bicycle rack and huge concrete block.

Wide open spaces

This a picture of the inside of the house now. The wood you see on the sawhorses is the beam that will run from the front of the house to the back down the middle of the house.

No, We're not done yet!!

Just a few pics of 2 more walls coming out.  The picture are of the walls that were running along the staircase.  Now you can see from the front room into what will be the dining room.  The stairs that you see will be gone before too long and a different staircase will take it's place.  The beam that is going to run from the front door all the way back to the 2 windows in the kitchen/dining room is being delivered tomorrow.  There are 2 pictures that are of the kitchen with the cabinets gone!!  They are not the greatest, so please forgive me!!  I will try to get more pictures this week or by the end of next weekend.

Are we done yet??

 Here is yet another wall that is coming out... This is the wall that use to be a closet in one of the front living areas.  You can now see through the living room into the kitchen and dining room.

Weekend Warriors

Here are some demolition pictures of the house after this weekend's work...We (mostly Shay) got the wall between the kitchen and what was a bedroom torn down.  That bedroom is going to be the dining room.  We got another wall and closet almost torn out, too.  Can I say that plaster walls suck!!!  Before the demolition began, the first floor was 4 rooms: 2 small living areas, kitchen and a bedroom.  When all is said and done, it will be pretty much one big room.  Ok, I am tired, so just look at the pictures!!

This view is from the living area where the fireplace is into the other living area.  Shay is tearing out the closet.  The doorway in the background is the staircase going up to the bedrooms and bathroom.
