so, here is what our living conditions are at this very moment...and, why, you may ask? Well, after living in our money pit for a few years, and freezing our buns off, it's time for a little insulation. Note: Stone is NOT a great insulator as a lot of people think. The R value is pretty crappy. Just ask me how cold our house is in the wintertime, and how in the summer, how hot the house is after the sun goes down because the rock is releasing all the heat it's had all day long. needless to say, there was no room between the plaster walls and the stone exterior to spray in insulation. :-(. So, we (what I really mean, is Shay) put up 2 inch insulation board over all the existing walls, and has put up furring strips over that so we (once again, Shay) will have something to screw the new drywall to. then, the real fun begins..taping/mudding/sanding the drywall. i'm hoping to be out of town for all of that fun..i wish! then the carpet will be taken up, which at the wall edges it already is and subfloor is now showing, and the hardwood floors can be put in...so, here are some pics of why i haven't posted in such a very long time...maybe when it's all said and done, i will post the "after" pics. all the "during" pics are not so fun...
